It’s probably best to start this with a disclaimer. You’ll likely be familiar with it if you’ve been scouring the websites of other writers in the industry, searching for an insight into landing that all important first role in the industry. So, without further delay, the information that follows below is not a cast iron guarantee that you will secure a job after reading. It’s as much a guide, as it is an account of the steps I took to put myself in the best position to land a job. It took time, a lot of hard work, a substantial number of rejections and an even greater amount of luck. There, much to my frustration for over three years of applying, no route that is set in stone which can guarantee you a job.
